Sacred Herbal Traditions & Cultivating the Self through Plants

February 18 @ 2:00 pm 3:00 pm

Ed and Maya Skopal I-TAL Acres

This class will explore some of the sacred herbal traditions in Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Native American Herbalism, Western Herbalism, and Rastafari.  Plants are sacred, the natural world is mystic and sacred, water is sacred…industry and commodification of the natural world try their best to destroy that sacredness.  By observing and cultivating plants, they begin to cultivate us.  We will discuss some of the best medicinal herbs to cultivate in our area and how to use them.

Ed and Maya Skopal and their three children have been cultivating and selling medicinal herb products on their small Floyd family farm (I-Tal Acres) for many years. They have  a wealth of knowledge and wisdom we are lucky to have in our community. Find out more about them at https://www.italacres.com/

This FREE public event, sponsored by the Library and Floyd Wild Garden Club will be followed by questions, conversations and optional potluck snacks.
