Nestled just half a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway and four miles from downtown Floyd, Virginia, Crooked Mountain is a veteran-owned agritourism oasis offering a blend of outdoor adventure, creative harvest, and community spirit. Started by Brian and Christy—who after a 23-year Army career chose the mountains of Floyd as their forever home—the farm has blossomed from a simple idea into a multi-faceted destination for tourists and locals alike
🌻 You-Pick Flower Farm: A Seasonal Color Explosion
From July through September, Crooked Mountain’s sprawling five-acre You-Pick flower farm comes to life in vivid hues: sunflowers, zinnias, rudbeckias, snapdragons, and more. Visitors purchase containers—mason jars, metal vases, or kids’ jars—then head into the fields to craft their own bouquets. Prices range from $5 for kids, up to $40 for a large vase, and even offer bulk pricing for larger groups. For sunset lovers, the Sunday Sunset Special slashes $1 off bouquet picks after 6 pm
Not into picking? No worries. A $5 day-use pass grants access to all field views, yard games, and entertainment areas. And if you’re looking to capture memories, a $25 half-hour professional photo session lets you and your loved ones pose in the blooms. While enjoying the experience, guests are reminded to check-in at the store, watch roaming little ones, and leave furry friends at home (unless they’re part of a photo shoot).
⛺ Camping: Creekside Serenity & Starry Nights
Crooked Mountain is more than blooms—it’s a lush camping retreat. The primitive tent campground features creekside spots, grassy field sites, and even pondside camping for those seeking a scenic backdrop. Ideal for tent, car, motorcycle, van, bicyclist, and truck campers, this site sits along the historic Crooked Road and near scenic bicycle and motorcycle routes, including the famed Blue Ridge Parkway. In 2025, the owners opened up their pond for catch and release fishing. For just $10 a day you can fish for catfish, bass, redear, and bluegill. Hipcamp reviews rave about its stunning views and family-friendly atmosphere.
🏪 Farm & Camp Store: Local Essentials & Artisan Finds

🌱 A Rich History, A Blooming Future
The property’s lineage stretches back to the early 1900s, with chapters as an organic produce farm, sheep pasture, water bottling facility, and Floyd’s first brewery bottling site. But its modern incarnation—with Brian and Christy at the helm—is a deliberate fusion of their passions: outdoor adventure, floral artistry, and Appalachian culture.
Recognized as the 2024 Outstanding New Tourism Business of the Year by Southwest Virginia Tourism and Business of the Year by the Floyd Chamber, Crooked Mountain is firmly rooted in its community and blooming with possibility
